Contruction of Rest Area at Heart Rate Hill Overlook on Sacrmento River Trail
Update on June 24th 2010

Demotion Day will be long remembered for real progress at Heart Rate Hill Overlook. Many thanks to Steven Anderson, Matt Show, Ray Stewart, Pat Corey, Ron Reynolds, Tim White, Greg Dunbar, Tom Semingson, Mike Mangas and Rotary Club of Redding. These shade structures now almost finished will be present for many years. Already visitors from Spokane, Los Angeles, Portland and many other places have come to wonder what is in the water here which makes wonderful trails possible everywhere near Redding.

Once again Pat Corey's McHale Sign Co., its powerful machines and capable crew coupled with Ray Stewart's knack for finding level and square made for a good morning at Heart Rate Hill Overlook. Pillars are bolted to the previously poured anchors, beams are mounted to the pillars and all we need are a couple more sessions in the coming weeks and this matter will be concluded.
Hopefully, BLM can replace the concrete tables at their convenience: two gray ones go on the east platform and bench is set on the end of the east pavement.
We never poured a curb, but may be we can find some rocks which will work. Anyway, hurry to get involved in this project because it's getting to be a lot like what the monkey said as he put his tail into the lawn mower, "It won't be long now!"
