Stream Team's War on Arundo Continues....

March 13th 2010

The battle across from MLK Park started promptly at 0830.  Like he was at Arundo War V, "Steam Fitter" Burroughs was the first to engage the enemy at Arundo War XI.  "Forever Smile" Fisher brought  "Lion" Lori and "Campaign" Koenigsaeker brought two daughters.  The ladies through Arundo just like "Wounded" Drennan only they never were hurt.  The third squad Koenigsaekers were everywhere: piling Arundo, measuring redwood placement, hauling and patting mulch.  "Clean Sweep" Nowak was a valuable replacement for a no show.  No task is too much for Nowak.  At the end, "Forever Smile" had to call for replacements, husband Ed, so that the second front could be started across from Gene's Drive In. 
Like previous efforts, this double whammy accomplished an amazing job removing and replacing a dangerous situation threatening homes and property.

Thanks to everyone for today's excellent work, for the wonderful experience now almost concluded which will make Shasta County the only warm county in California without Arundo.
